YU-HSIU CAMILLE CHEN
Writer/ Director/ Producer
Born in 1975, Camille grew up in the city of I-Lan situated on the North East coast of Taiwan. After high school, she attended the University of Utah, in the United States, where she majored in film studies with an emphasis on writing and directing.
Camilles initial film career focused on TV commercials, music video and feature films working in Taiwan and China. In 2006, she set up Konnectfilms, a successful film production business specialising in high-end TV commercials for the Asian market.
Now living in Western Australia with her family, Camille has decided to focus her energies on her directing career. Her pursuit of filmmaking is a passionate endeavour to express her views about life and peoples adaptation to changing environments.
In 2008, Camille co-founded Bolderpictures with Peter Thomas.
In 2009, Camille directed and produced CONSCIENCE (short film, 10 min) based on Italo Calvinos short story of the same title.
Little Sparrows is Camilles debut feature film.

PETER THOMAS
Executive Producer
Originally from Sydney, Australia, Peter brings broad international and business experiences to Bolderpictures.
Peters career has focused on risk capital industries. He has worked in financing, management and operational roles in mining, oil & gas, biotechnology/pharmaceutical and film production.
Presently he is a senior executive at Fortescue Metals Group, an emerging large iron ore mining company, in its head office in Perth, Western Australia.
Peter completed an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1998 and worked as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers in New York and London for five years. Following a decade in North America and Europe, he returned to Australia in 2005.
In 2008, Peter co-founded Bolderpictures with Camille Chen with the express aim of making engaging independent cinema.
EVA DI BLASIO
Producer
Eva graduated from Curtin University in 2009 with a BA degree in Film and Television.
Since 2008 Eva has worked for Bolderpictures, entering the company as a Casting Manager for the companys debut short film CONSCIENCE (short film, 10 min, 2009) which screened at Cannes Short Film Corner 2009.
Eva's final project at Curtin University, Taxi (documentary, 11 min 2009 ) earned her a WA Screen Award nomination for the early career category of the same year.
JASON THOMAS
Director of Photography
Jason began his cinematography career more than 19 years ago as a camera assistant with a commercial television network.
His body of work has taken him all over Australia and various parts of the world shooting documentaries, music videos, commercials and drama projects.
Jason is a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society and has received many ACS awards for his cinematography.
Little Sparrows is the second feature film that Jason has shot on RED ONE camera system.
FIL BAKER
Editor
Having worked in all the various aspects of film production, writing, shooting, directing, editing and producing, FiL has finally settled down into what he loves best - telling stories. His platform of choice for this expression is editing - the place where it all comes together with music, pictures and sound.
FiL recently won Best Editing Award at the 2009 International Surf Film Festival St Jean De Luz France.

Music Design System (MDS)
Composers
Music Design Systems was founded in 1997 by Keith van Geyzel and Tim Count. It is a company that creates music for a wide range of various productions. These range from feature film and short film scores, documentaries and television series soundtracks, right through to music for TV commercials.
MDS are members of the prestigious D&AD (British Design and Art Direction) and AGSC (Australian Guild of Screen Composers), and are also members of APRA (Australasian Performers Rights Association). MDS has the ABC as their publishers.
Both Keith and Tim were lecturers in music, arrangement and electronic composition at the conservatorium of music faculty of Edith Cowan University.
MICHELLE RIDLEY
Wardrobe and Make-up Design
Meticulous and gracious, Michelle knows how to remain calm in the most stressful set environment.
A recent graduate from WAAPA with an Advanced Diploma of Live Theatre, Production and Events (Costume), Michelle has worked as a costume technician, dresser and stylist on productions including classical and contemporary dance, restoration comedy, seminal Broadway musicals and new Australian plays.
In the future Michelle hopes to combine her love of travel with her passion for design.
DAN BUTLER
First Camera Assistant/ 2nd Camera Operator
Known as "that Dan guy", Dan is resourceful and efficient on set and off set.
Dan supports Jason in the camera department; adapting to difficult production conditions to get the perfect shots needed for the story.
DION BORRETT
Gaffer/ 2nd Camera Assistant
Dion's fiery passion for filmmaking and cinematography supplements his thoughtful nature.
Originally from Adalaide and now calling Perth home, Dion is a recent graduate from TAFE film program. His passion is cinematography and it is not hard to tell at all.
GUS DIAS
Gaffer/ Grip
Reliable, passionate and insanely hardworking; Gus provides solid backbone to the camera department.
Gus's spirit is highly infectious. Knowing Gus will be on set gives immediate comfort in the toughest shooting environment.
Gus also delivers a cameo performance as the mad truck driver in the suburb.
OWEN HUGHES
Sound Recordist
It is impossible to overlook the talent and wittiness of Owen. Ridiculously meticulous and intensely professional, Owen offers not only his recording skills but also high spirit to the production.
A passionate musician himself, Owen never ceases to surprise and make smile.
DANIEL HENDERSON
Production Coordinator/ Unit Manager
Savvy and effective, Daniel works closely with Eva to make the impossible possible allowing the shoot to go on smoothly.
A FTI film program graduate, Daniel is an aspiring writer and director. He is currently working on his feature film script among many other passionate pursuits.
Cheekily referred as the "Unit Dan", Dan also exhibits excellent culinary skills on the barbecue!

A recent TAFE film program graduate, Tania is a budding writer and director.
Savvy and assertive, Tania thrives on the film set. Tania is part of the multi-tasked production crew taking upon roles from continuity, 2nd assistant director, to occasional grip support!

Graduated from Curtin University with a BA degree in Film and Television, Peter is part of the multi-tasked production team, from gaffer/ grip support, to filmming "Behind the Scene".

Originally from Normandy, France, Mathieu is definitely passionate about his photography.
Mathieu is quiet and assured. It didn't take long for Mathieu to become an integral part of the production crew as we travelled from location to location.
